The Department of Effective Microorganisms isolates beneficial microorganisms
from human sources, selects and retains non-harmful strains according to the
standards set by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Leveraging these microorganisms, we focus on researching the diversity
and homeostasis of the intestinal microbiome to enhance immune function
and balance intestinal health. Our research aims to protect against various diseases
and improve the quality of life.
Specifically, through functional studies of our selected strains, we are developing
solutions for the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndromes,
such as diabetes, obesity, liver diseases, and infertility, which are increasingly
recognized as societal issues.
Efficacy Analysis
The Department of Efficacy Analysis establishes various cell experimental models
and methods tailored to specific diseases. We focus on elucidating the efficacy
and mechanisms of action of newly discovered functional materials through biomarker
analysis. Utilizing naturally occurring substances native to Korea, we are dedicated to
developing functional products that meet consumer needs for health, including prevention
of hair loss, inflammatory bowel diseases, Alzheimer's, and macular degeneration.
Antibodies & Pharmaceuticals
We specialize in producing therapeutic antibodies using CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary)
cells, securing cell lines for biosimilars in immuno-oncology, autoimmune diseases,
and macular degeneration treatments. Recently, we have been focused on developing
food additives and pharmaceuticals using hyaluronidase-producing strains isolated
from domestic soil.
